Here are the results of a visit to St. Thomas Primary School, Exeter .........

felt pouch

felt purse

Over the following weeks the children used their newly learned sewing techniques to complete the bags .........

.... and to decorate them. Dyed Merino Tops had been left with them to make coloured felt for decoration, but they've used their imagination and added much more.

first attempt at felt making

Jackie (from London) produced this abstract design with her first attempt at felt making. She used brown Shetland tops for the background and dyed merino decorative wool for the design.
